Josie & Dan’s wedding has been one of our favourite weddings of 2015. Keeping it local & simple, their ceremony was held at the chapel in CLC College in Eltham (& was the very first wedding ceremony held in this pretty chapel!) & their reception held at Bridges Restaurant in Hurstbridge.
From the very start, Josie was organised & had a beautiful vision in her head. There was the perfect mix of classic elegance & on trend rustic vibes- think hessian, twine & lace. The beautiful light filled chapel was softened with recycled jars filled with lush posies of Babies Breath placed on pillars. Simply lining the aisle like this worked beautifully to introduce the rustic feel, without intruding on the clean & crisp beauty of the space.
Josie & Dan decided on fresh rose petals in mixed colours for their guests to throw at the end of the ceremony. Making paper cones from brown craft paper was the perfect way to present them.
The wedding colour theme was very neutral & on trend. Josie wore a stunning & classic style ivory gown, with her two bridesmaids in a very light apricot/nude colour floor length gowns. For the bouquets we created posy style bouquets, with a semi-relaxed, but lush look, in ivory tones with some apricot tones. To keep to the relaxed feel, we kept a little bit of natural green showing through the bouquets.
Josie left the flower choice up completely up to us (booking The Luxurious Package). By leaving us with free choice, we could chose from a beautiful range of seasonally available flowers. We selected Roses, Freesias, Bourvardia, Carnations & Lisianthus- all of which were grown right here in Victoria! We added a small amount of Babies Breath to tie the theme together. On Josie’s posy, we added photo charms on the stems for her.
We used ivory roses for the men’s buttonholes & miniature ivory roses for the ladies corsages. By keeping them all in ivory, they blended well with the colour scheme & the simplicity that carried through the whole wedding.
The photographs were taken in Eltham & in the surrounding areas, utilising all the gorgeous parklands available. A Tiffany Blue Combi Van was the perfect mode of transport for Jose & Dan, it looked amazing in photos & really complimented the entire wedding theme.
The wedding reception decoration was kept simple & true to the style of Bridges Restaurant. Using wood slices as a base, we placed recycled jars decorated with hessian & lace on top, filled with Babies Breathe, complimented with a few tea light candles around the base. This helped to soften the room & kept the whole them tied together.
Their wedding cake looked stunning, a simple two tier cake with rough icing placed on a wooden slice. With some hessian & twine around the base of the cake, with a simple laser cut wooden topper.
The ceremony flowers were brought to the reception & placed around the room, accompanied with more tea light candles scattered around the venue, & fairy lights, the reception room was kept looking simple & elegant.
We absolutely adored working with Josie to create the perfect floral arrangements for her wedding day.
